Job summary

Horizon House (CCRC) seeks a compassionate Medication Technician (Med Tech) to assist residents with medications in our Assisted Living team. You will work under RN Delegator guidance to ensure accuracy and safety across medication systems.

The role involves collaboration with nurses, CNAs and care staff, with a focus on delivering high-quality, empathetic resident care, safety, and compliance with WA state regulations.

Qualifications

• Active WA State Nursing Assistant Certified (NAC) with minimum six months work experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Nurse Delegation Core Training completed.
• Nurse Delegation with Diabetes Management focus.
• Must read/write/communicate in English.
• Proficient with computers and software.
• EMR experience required.
• CPR and First Aid current; certification due within 30 days of hire.
• Food Handler’s permit due within 14 days of hire.
• Dementia and Mental Health training per WA regulations; complete within 90 days of hire.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
• Remarkable communication with prescribers, pharmacists, families, residents, and care team.

Responsibilities

• Accurately administer medications and treatments per orders and policies.
• Document medication administration and effects per procedures.
• Protect residents’ rights and confidentiality during medication delivery.
• Transcribe orders into MAR within scope of practice.
• Maintain secure storage and accountability for all medications.
• Report changes in resident condition to nursing staff.
• Communicate with licensed staff, physicians, families, and teams about resident status.
