Job summary

Porter Hills Village is seeking a Medication Technician for the night shift to administer medications, monitor residents, and provide compassionate daily care in a 3rd shift environment.

You will ensure accuracy, support health monitoring, and assist with ADLs, meals, and mobility while upholding confidentiality and professional standards. This full‑time role offers shift premiums and benefits.

Qualifications

• 1 year of medication passing experience in a healthcare setting.
• Experience as a caregiver in a healthcare setting, preferably with seniors or in long‑term care.
• Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance.
• Working knowledge of EMAR systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments per care plans.
• Assist residents with ADLs: bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting.
• Support mealtime and ensure hydration for residents.
• Assist with turning, positioning and safe transfers.
• Take and record vital signs, weight and intake/output.
• Keep resident rooms clean, comfortable and stocked with essentials.
• Respond to call lights promptly and provide compassionate support.
• Report changes in residents’ conditions to leadership.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Compensation: $18.04 - $20.17 / hour

Description

Schedule:Full-time, 35 hours per week | 3rd shift 6:30pm - 6:45am | Varies Monday - Friday, every other weekend | No scheduling mandation
Shift Premium:Weekend (Fri 11:00 pm - Sun 10:59 pm) 0.50 | Night (11:00 pm - 6:59 am) 0.75

Key Responsibilities

• Administer Medications & Treatments – Pass medications and provide treatments safely according to care plans.
• Provide Hands‑On Care – Assist residents with personal care (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Support Mealtime – Help residents enjoy their meals and stay hydrated for overall health.
• Promote Mobility – Assist with turning, positioning, and safe transfers to keep residents moving safely.
• Perform Vital Checks – Measure and record vital signs, weight, and intake/output.
• Maintain Comfort & Care – Keep residents’ rooms tidy, cozy, and stocked with essentials.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• 1 year of medication passing experience in a healthcare setting.
• Previous experience as a caregiver in a healthcare setting, preferably with seniors or in long‑term care.
• Position requires the ability to lift and move objects weighting up to 35 pounds without assistance.
• Previous working knowledge of Electronic Medication Administration Records (EMAR) systems, preferred.
