Job summary

Bridgeway Park Tecumseh Senior Living Community is seeking compassionate caregivers to support residents, especially those with dementia, in a warm and dynamic team environment. The role includes assisting with daily activities, medication administration, and maintaining a safe, clean living space for residents.

Weekend shifts are required, and a background check will be completed. High school diploma or GED and reliable transportation are expected.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in caregiving.
• Pass a criminal background check.
• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities such as transferring, bathing, dressing, toileting, and walking.
• Administer medications and injections according to medical charts and physician orders.
• Maintain cleanliness of the residents' environment, including light housekeeping.
• Follow safety and health standards, including infection control procedures.
• Document medications and care provided; complete required charting and forms.
• Answer call lights and assess residents' needs, providing timely care and assistance.

Responsibilities

• Assisting residents with daily living activities such as transferring in and out of bed, bathing, dressing, toileting, and walking.
• Passing medication is a primary responsibility along with hands-on care to each resident.
• Maintaining the cleanliness of the environment which may include light housekeeping.
• Comply with all safety and health standards, including infection control procedures.
• Assess for changes in condition and communicate immediately to the supervisor.
• Administer medications and injections to residents based on medical charts.
• Following schedule, and assisting residents with repositioning.
• Follow procedures regarding documenting medications.
• Utilize good judgment in providing client care and safety.
• Assisting other team members with their duties.
• Complete all required documents and charting.
• Answer call lights and assess residents' needs.
• Obtain meal trays and assist with eating.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• 3 years of experience
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Reliable transportation.
• Every other weekend.
