Job summary

Chelsea Retirement Community is seeking a Medication Technician for a 2nd shift in Chelsea, MI. The role involves administering medications, assisting with ADLs, and ensuring resident comfort as part of a supportive team.

The position offers a full-time schedule (2:30pm-11:00pm) with shift premiums and comprehensive benefits after probation. Prior LTC experience and EMAR familiarity are valued assets for this opportunity.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; certification in medical assisting or a related field is a plus.
• Experience: Prior experience in a healthcare setting, especially with seniors or in long-term care, is highly preferred.
• Physical requirements: Must be able to lift and move up to 35 pounds independently.
• Technical skills: Familiarity with EMAR systems is a plus.
• Medication administration: At least one year of experience administering medications in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer Medications & Treatments – Pass medications and provide treatments safely according to care plans.
• Provide Hands-On Care – Assist residents with personal care (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Support Mealtime – Help residents enjoy their meals and stay hydrated for overall health.
• Promote Mobility – Assist with turning, positioning, and safe transfers to keep residents moving safely.
• Perform Vital Checks – Measure and record vital signs, weight, and intake/output.
• Maintain Comfort & Care – Keep residents’ rooms tidy, cozy, and stocked with essentials.
• Respond to Resident Needs – Answer call lights promptly and provide compassionate support.
• Monitor Resident Conditions – Report any changes to the leadership team immediately.
• Demonstrate Respect & Professionalism – Maintain confidentiality while delivering high-quality care.
