Job summary

MBK Senior Living is seeking a Medication Technician for a full-time PM shift (2pm–10:30pm). You will document, deliver and administer medicines to residents with excellent customer service, adhering to policies, government regulations, and HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities include assisting residents with medications, documenting administration, and coordinating with the pharmacy and physician. Training, a supportive team, and a strong benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Age 18 or over and work authorization documented
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience handling medications preferred; on-the-job training available
• Background clearances as required by government regulations
• Health screening and negative TB test results within required timeframe
• Must be able to read, write and speak English

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily medications, treatments and care within scope of practice, policy and regulations
• Observe, verify and document that medications are ingested or applied as directed
• Maintain clear, accurate, confidential records on resident medication and care
• Coordinate medication services with resident, pharmacy and physician(s) and verify dosages with physician prior to dispensing
• Track orders for medication changes and/or refills and prepare medications in advance
• Participate in narcotic counts at shift start/end and report discrepancies
