Job summary

Avanti Sl in Spring, TX is seeking a dedicated Medication Aide to assist residents with medications, ensure availability, and maintain accurate documentation for safe, quality care. You will support residents with daily living activities, follow care plans, and help maintain a clean, organized medication area while adhering to state regulations and company policies.

Experience in assisted living or senior care is preferred.

Qualifications

• Proficient in written and verbal English.
• Demonstration of ability to establish long-term relationships.
• Interest in working with the older adult population.
• Must exhibit and promote a high level of customer service, hospitality, curiosity and friendliness.
• Must be able to work rotating shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with medication and treatments as prescribed by physician. Monitors response to existing treatment plans; notifies Wellness Director of concerns.
• Maintain all required documentation to ensure medications are handled properly and timely in compliance with physicians, company policy and state regulations.
• Maintain residents’ records daily in a timely manner and in accordance with company policy and procedure, including medication distribution, incident reports and changes reported to the Wellness Director.
• Maintain records of medications released to and returned by any resident or family member in compliance with policy and state regulations.
• Maintains records of controlled drugs in compliance with company policy and state regulations.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the medication rooms and medication carts.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living following the care plan (showering, dressing, personal hygiene, transfers, etc.).
• Motivate residents to be as independent as possible while providing needed assistance.
• Treat residents with kindness, respect, and dignity.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and perform general housekeeping of resident spaces.
• Assist and support residents in activities with motivation and encouragement.
• Observe, document, and report residents’ physical and mental status to the Wellness Director.
• Deliver and retrieve meal trays and support dining as needed.
• Encourage proper diet and fluids, report changes in eating to supervisor.
• Serve meals and assist in meal prep as needed.
