Job summary

Harmony Senior Services is seeking a Med Tech to provide quality care and assist with daily living activities for residents. The role includes administering prescribed medications within scope, maintaining medication carts, and documenting in EMAR/MAR, while communicating updates to the health care director and family as needed.

Responsibilities also include assisting with activities, planning events, and ensuring resident safety.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have completed the Medication Aide Course.
• Must satisfactorily pass 2 medication observations annually.
• Must satisfactorily pass all medication cart audits assigned.
• Must attend 4 additional hours of medication administration education annually.
• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in-writing.
• Must be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel.
• Must be a contributing member of nursing team and follow instruction of supervisor.
• Must be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times.
• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs, and push or carry 25 lbs.
• Must be able to safely lift and transfer residents while maintaining proper body mechanics.
• Must be in designated uniform during working hours, to include name badge and a smile.
• Must be CPR/First Aid certified, or be willing to become certified within 60 days of hire.
• Must be able to represent the community in a positive and professional manner.
• Must attend and complete all required in-services and staff meetings.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to remain calm and competent during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications within scope of practice.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Maintain medication cart and EMAR/MAR documentation.
• Report incidents and concerns to appropriate staff.
• Perform housekeeping duties as directed by supervisor.
• Respond promptly to resident calls for assistance or emergencies.
• Assist in planning activities and resident move-in transitions.
• Communicate resident status and needs to the HCD and document in Daily Log.
