Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Yorktown, Virginia is seeking a Med Tech to join our residential community. The role provides quality care, assists with activities of daily living, and helps administer prescribed medications within the established scope of practice.

Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED, complete the Medication Aide Course, and hold both CNA and Med Tech licenses in good standing. CPR/First Aid certification is required or obtained within 60 days of hire; weekend and

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Must complete the Medication Aide Course.
• Must possess CNA and Med Tech licenses in good standing.
• Must pass 2 medication observations annually.
• Must pass all medication cart audits.
• Must attend 4 hours of medication education annually.
• Must communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Must be organized and able to work with all personnel.
• Must be a contributing member of nursing team and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Assist with administration of prescribed medications within scope.
• Maintain knowledge of policies and procedures related to the position.
• Assist residents with daily activities and mobility.
• Report incidents or concerns to appropriate staff (HCD, RN/LPN, etc).
• Perform housekeeping duties as directed by supervisor.
• Respond promptly to resident calls for assistance or emergencies.
• Assist in planning and conducting resident activities.
• Document medication administration on EMAR/MAR; report exceptions.
• Communicate resident needs to HCD and in Daily Log.
