Job summary

Westmont of Santa Barbara, an Assisted Living and Memory Care community, seeks a compassionate MED TECH to support residents with medication setup and administration. You will document MARs and follow physician or RN guidance to ensure safe, accurate medication handling in a licensed setting.

Candidates must pass health screens, have a clear background, and obtain first aid within 30 days. This on-site role offers competitive pay and full benefits after 30 days.

• Ability to perform medication setup and assist with self-administration as ordered by physicians/RN/RSD
• Document medication assistance on MARs and ensure no blanks
• Explain and document PRN medication reasons and effectiveness

Responsibilities

• Perform medication set-up and assist residents on the Medication Program with self-administration
• Set up, record and assist with medications as ordered by physicians or RN/RSD
• Document medication assistance on MARs immediately after assistance
• Document reasons for PRN medication and effectiveness on MARs
• Meet licensing regulations by completing required checks and documentation

What we need from you:

• Perform medication set-up and assist residents on the Medication Program with the self-administration of their medications
• Must be able to set up, record and assist with medications as ordered by physicians and/or at the direction of the RN and RSD.
• Provide medication assistance documentation per policy and state requirements including:
  • Document medication assistance on Medication Assistance Records (MARs) immediately after assistance
  • Leaves no blanks on MARs
  • Document reasons for PRN medication on reverse of MARs and effectiveness of medication
• Must have criminal record clearance prior to initial presence in the community
• Must pass all health screen such as Physical, TB, Drug test
• Must have current basic first aid or obtain within first 30 days of hire.
