Job summary

Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital in California is seeking a skilled Clinical Staff Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care using the Watson Model of Care.

The role reports to the Manager of Medical-Surgical Telemetry and requires 12-hour accountability for planning, directing, and coordinating care for a defined patient population. The ideal candidate has a California RN license, at least one year of clinical nursing experience, and CPR/BLS certification; ACLS and CPI

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience.
• 12 months of Med/Surg/Telemetry or Critical Care nursing experience preferred.
• Current California Nursing license.
• Basic EKG Competence.
• Certification in Progressive Critical Care Nursing preferred.
• Certification in Medical/Surgical Nursing preferred.
• CPI Blue Card within 90 days of hire or requirement notification.

Responsibilities

• Apply nursing process to plan and coordinate patient care.
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and adjust care as needed.
• Provide age-appropriate care and adhere to evidence-based practice.
• Demonstrate commitment to patient satisfaction and professional behavior.
• Maintain therapeutic nurse/patient relationships and conduct hourly rounds.
• Communicate using SBAR during hand-offs.
