Job summary

Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital in Pico Rivera, CA seeks an experienced Clinical Staff Nurse (RN) to provide 12-hour patient-centered care on the Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit.

Reporting to the Manager, you will apply the Watson Model of Care to diverse adult populations, ensure safety, and participate in quality improvement. The role requires a California RN license, BLS/ACLS, and completion of residency programs; bilingual preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Nursing degree required; internal MLKCH Versant Nurse Residency program considered
• Minimum of one year clinical nursing experience; 12 months Med/Surg/Telemetry or Critical Care preferred
• Current California Nursing license
• Basic EKG competence
• Dysrhythmia course certificate preferred
• CPI Blue Card within 90 days of hire or requirement notification

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Nursing assessment focused on targeted areas; prioritize and coordinate care.
• Provide age-appropriate care and apply current literature and critical thinking to clinical decisions.
• Communicate using SBAR during hand-offs and maintain clear documentation.
• Support discharge planning and coordinate interdisciplinary care with care managers.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and adhere to regulatory standards and unit policies.
