Job summary

Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Clinical Staff Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality, individualized patient care on a 12-hour shift. You will plan, direct, and coordinate care using the Watson Model of Care for a defined patient population.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience.
• Minimum of 12 months Med/Surg/Telemetry or Critical Care nursing experience preferred.
• Basic EKG competence.
• Certification in Progressive Critical Care Nursing preferred.
• Certification in Medical / Surgical Nursing preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use nursing process to plan and deliver patient- and family-centered care.
• Prioritize and organize care; ensure follow-through with planned care.
• Provide age-appropriate care; apply current literature and critical thinking.
• Demonstrate commitment to patient satisfaction and safety.
• Coordinate discharge planning with care managers for a defined population.
• Communicate changes with physician; SBAR handoffs in all transitions.
• Document care using IPOC and Watson Model of Care.
• Assist with unit orientation and training of staff.

Electronic Medical Record experience

Current Basic Life Support

Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support

CPI Blue Card within 90 Days

Education

Bachelor in Nursing degree preferred
