Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for Med Surg-2 North at NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk in Patchogue, NY. The role delivers professional nursing care aligned with physician treatment plans to ensure patient and family well-being.

You will perform initial and ongoing assessments, document the care plan, participate in discharge planning, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to meet diverse patient needs.

Qualifications

• Two-year nursing program completed.
• NY State RN license required.
• BLS, ACLS, TCAR and PALS/TNCC certifications required or to be obtained.
• CPI/BERT training may be required for certain units.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient health data with input from patient, family, and other providers.
• Perform initial and ongoing nursing assessments.
• Document the nursing component of the admission assessment.
• Address age/cultural needs and customize care plans.
• Incorporate discharge planning into the admission process.
• Communicate outcomes to patient, family, and care team.
• Develop and update plan of care to meet expected outcomes.
