NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk in Patchogue, NY is seeking a Registered Nurse-Med Surg for $57-73/hour on a part-time day shift. You will provide professional nursing care per physician orders and collaborate with an interdisciplinary health team to ensure patient comfort and safety.

Requirements include two-year nursing program, NYS RN license, BLS; ACLS for ICU/ED; PALS preferred for ED; TCAR preferred for SICU/PACU.

Qualifications

• Two-year nursing program completed at an accredited School of Nursing.
• 1+ year nursing experience preferred for Med Surg/ICU.
• Licensed as a New York State Registered Professional Nurse.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required for ICU, Float pool, ED.
• PALS certification preferred for ED.
• TCAR certification preferred for SICU, PACU.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient health data with patient, family, and other providers.
• Perform initial assessment based on patient’s presentation.
• Record data on the nursing component of the Interdisciplinary Admission Assessment.
• Demonstrate awareness of age and culture-specific needs.
• Conduct ongoing assessments per department policy and patient response.
• Incorporate discharge planning into the admission process.
• Analyze assessment data to identify problems and outcomes for the patient.
• Communicate expected outcomes to patient, family, and other providers.
• Develop a plan of care with interventions to reach expected outcomes.
• Document the initial plan of care and provide updates as required.
