Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is seeking a Registered Nurse for Medical-Surgical, 2 South, Part-Time Day shifts. The RN will provide professional nursing care per physician plans, assess patient needs, implement and document the care plan, and collaborate with the inter-disciplinary team to support patient and family wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Two-year nursing program completed at an accredited school.
• Current New York State RN license.
• BLS certification and de-escalation training.
• ACLS for ICU/float pool/ED.
• TCAR certification for SICU/PACU.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient health data with patient/family input.
• Perform initial assessment based on presentation.
• Document the nursing component of the admission assessment.
• Age-appropriate and culturally sensitive care across all patients.
• Perform ongoing assessments as per policy and patient response.
• Incorporate discharge planning into the admission process.
• Develop and implement care plans with patient, family, and team.
