Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk seeks a Registered Nurse for Med Surg, full-time days. You will execute professional nursing care per physician plans to support patient and family well-being, assess needs, and document progress. Work with the interdisciplinary team to deliver care and educate patients and families.

The role requires supervising care, directing nursing staff, and participating in staff orientation. Strong clinical judgment and patient-centered care are essential.

Qualifications

• Two-year nursing program completed and NYS Registered Nurse license.
• BLS, ACLS, and TCAR certifications required.
• PALS and TNCC within first year for Emergency Dept.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient health data with input from patient, family, and other care providers.
• Perform initial patient assessment.
• Document nursing assessments and care plans in the medical record.
• Develop and update a care plan with realistic goals and interdisciplinary input.
• Educate patients and families and coordinate discharge planning.
