Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Med Surg-2 South unit on a full-time night shift with alternating weekends. The nurse executes professional care per physician plans, assesses patient needs, plans and implements treatment, and documents progress while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.

The role directs nursing care delivery, mentors staff, participates in new employee orientation, and contributes to discharge planning, patient safety, and quality

Qualifications

• Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice.
• Current NYS RN license and BLS/ACLS/PALS as applicable.
• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient health data with patient/family involvement.
• Perform initial assessments and document findings.
• Develop and revise the plan of care and discharge planning.
• Ensure patient safety and provide education to patient and family.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to meet patient needs.
