Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk in Suffolk, NY, has an opening for a Registered Nurse on Med Surg-2 South. This full-time night shift (7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.) includes alternate weekends.

The nurse will deliver professional care per physician plans, assess needs, implement treatments, and document progress. The role requires teamwork with an interdisciplinary team, patient and family education, discharge planning, and ongoing plan updates.

Qualifications

• Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice.
• Current New York State license as a Registered Professional Nurse.
• BLS certification and de-escalation training.
• ACLS (ICU, Float pool, Emergency Dept).
• TCAR Certification (SICU, PACU).
• For Emergency Dept: PALS, TNCC within first year.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care per physician treatment plans.
• Assess patient needs, plan and implement treatment; document observations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary health team to meet patient needs.
• Direct delivery of nursing care and mentor staff on unit.
• Participate in orientation of new employees.
• Document initial and ongoing plans of care and patient progress.
