Job summary

Ridgeview Medical Center seeks an skilled registered nurse to deliver individualized patient care using assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation per nursing standards. The role includes care planning, documentation and patient advocacy in a fast-paced Med/Surg setting.

Charge nurse duties involve staffing, workflow management and liaison between staff and providers. Minnesota RN licensure and BLS/ACLS within specified timelines are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• RN licensure in Minnesota or permit while license is in process.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
• ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• TNCC or trauma education within 1 year of hire.
• PALS certification within one year of hire.
• BSN preferred.
• RN experience in Med/Surg or Emergency Department preferred.
• CEN and MEDSURG-BC certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient health problems and develops, implements and evaluates care plans.
• Provides nursing care.
• Educates patients and family on health maintenance and disease prevention.
• Documents and maintains medical records.
• Participates in quality improvement activities.
• Acts as patient advocate and connects to community resources.
• Interacts with peers and other providers to enhance nursing practice.
• Demonstrates competencies in Med/Surg.
