Job summary

Ascension Health is seeking a nurse leader for Seton Medical Center Hays in Kyle, TX. The role is full-time, night shift, overseeing Med Surg staff and patient assignments to ensure safe, high-quality care.

You’ll direct staffing, monitor patient needs, and collaborate with leadership to optimize workflow while maintaining productivity and compliance with policies. BLS and Texas RN licensure are required, with a year of relevant experience preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Responsibilities

• Assigns, directs, educates and monitors nursing and support associates during assigned shifts.
• Meets with staff and exercises independent judgment to plan the shifts, services, and patient care.
• Assesses daily patient care needs and develops and distributes patient care assignments, ensuring that population appropriate patient care is given and is accountable for maintaining productivity standards and justifying variances to unit manager or designee.
• Responds to complaints about patient care and manages through established channels.
• Facilitates availability of adequate material, resources and supplies.
• Sets priorities appropriate to daily patient/physician dynamics.
• Provides input into hiring, training, directing, development and evaluation of staff.

Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing
