Job summary

Ascension is seeking an experienced RN for a Night Shift, Full-time position in Kyle, TX, within Seton Medical Center Hays Med Surg. You will supervise nursing and support staff, assign patient care, and ensure productivity while addressing daily patient care needs and complaints.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license in Texas.
• BLS Provider certification.
• 1 year of cumulative job-specific experience.

Responsibilities

• Assigns, directs, educates and monitors nursing and support associates during assigned shifts.
• Meets with staff and exercises independent judgment to plan the shifts, services, and patient care.
• Assesses daily patient care needs and develops and distributes patient care assignments, ensuring that population appropriate patient care is given and is accountable for maintaining productivity standards and justifying variances to unit manager or designee.
• Responds to complaints about patient care and manages through established channels.
• Facilitates availability of adequate material, resources and supplies.
• Sets priorities appropriate to daily patient/physician dynamics.
• Provides input into hiring, training, directing, development and evaluation of staff.
