Boston Medical Center (Brighton) is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Med/Surge Float Pool. The role supports 24/7 clinical excellence across medical and surgical adult populations, with 36 hours per week and day/night rotation. Float pool nurses build broad med/surg skills and provide comprehensive patient care.

The position emphasizes teamwork, evidence-based practice, and professional development in a supportive environment with opportunities for growth and training.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice professional nursing as an RN in MA.
• 1+ years of RN experience preferred.
• BLS certification required; ACLS in certain units may be required.
• Nursing degree (Diploma, ASN or BSN); BSN encouraged to obtain within 4 years.
• Effective verbal and written communication; ability to meet job responsibilities.
• Fluency in another language is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the Medical Surgical units, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and education of patients.
• Communicate with health care team members, patients, and families.
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records.
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMCHS nursing organization.
• Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects.
