Job summary

Banner Health in Casper, Wyoming seeks a Registered Nurse for the Med/Surg Float-Hosp team. The role responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and documenting nursing care in line with professional standards and organizational policies, ensuring quality and safety for diverse patient populations.

The RN will collaborate with multidisciplinary team, coordinate discharge planning, provide patient education, maintain competencies, and participate in quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current, valid RN license in the state of practice.
• BLS certification required; additional certifications may be required based on area of practice.
• Experience in the clinical area for which the applicant is applying is desired.
• Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which they work as demonstrated through annual validations.
• Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs and reviews data and diagnostics.
• Formulates a plan of care with discharge planning, goals, and patient/family input for measurable outcomes.
• Implements the plan of care through direct patient care and supervision of the health care team, adhering to policy and standards.
• Evaluates patient and family response to care and revises the plan as needed in coordination with the team.
• Documents assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record with clear, timely notes.
• Participates in professional activities and supports growth of others through precepting and mentoring as appropriate.
• Contributes to improved patient outcomes and quality indicators through evidence-based practice and collaboration.
