HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator for Med Surg. You will influence patient care and collaborate with management to optimize outcomes across the unit.

You will direct clinical and operational activities, supervise staff, and participate in care conferences to support discharge planning. A strong nursing background and Florida RN licensure are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Florida RN license required; Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain Florida license after relocation.
• BLS-AHA Provider card required within 30 days of start.
• 2 years acute care RN experience preferred.
• NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Bachelor’s Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma, or Associate Degree.
• ACLS Instructors required within 6 months of start date.
• PALS Instructors required within 6 months of start date.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee staff roles on unit.
• Coordinate patient placement within the unit according to acuity, skill mix and staff availability.
• Identify and address educational needs of the unit.
• Participate in patient care conferences, addressing discharge needs.
• Ensure rounds with physicians are conducted.
• Monitor patient conditions and make timely clinical decisions.
• Ensure orders are appropriate and carried out promptly.
