Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Completion of certified nurse assistant course.
• BLS certification within 6 months of employment.
• MO CNA, EMT, or Fundamentals Class in Nursing school.
• Successful completion of hospital orientation.

Responsibilities

• Provide appropriate care to patients, including bathing, vital signs, glucose monitoring, walking, and answering the call light as needed.
• Report abnormal vital signs and glucose reading to nurse who is overseeing patient care.
• Report a change in-patient to nurse taking care of patient.
• Documentation in the EMR that are accurate and detailed if needed.
• Provide clean environment care (straightening up rooms, emptying drains).
• Provide protection of medical record and maintain HIPPA compliance.
• Fill out incent reports as needed for actual events and near misses.
• Other duties as assigned.
