Qualifications

• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification within 45 days.
• Nurse Aide in good standing with the State Registry.
• GED/HSED or High School Diploma required.
• Basic computer and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation.
• Measure and document blood pressures, temperature, pulse, respiration, intake and output, daily weights, and other patient data in EMR.
• Perform purposeful rounding and communicate observations to RN.
• Participate in admission, transfer and discharge processes under supervision of RN.
• Collect urine, stool, and sputum specimens and perform point-of-care testing as indicated.
• Restock nursing area, clean equipment and work areas.
• Assist with patient positioning and transporting, including diet tray setup and positioning.
• Maintain skin integrity and ensure supplies such as TED hose and sequential compression devices.
• May remove IVs, provide post mortem care, and bladder scans under RN direction.
• Follow infection prevention policies and proper PPE when in isolation.
• Provide age-appropriate care considering growth and development.
