Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Mechatronics & Robotics Apprentice (MRA) in Chesapeake, VA to learn electronic, mechanical, computer and control skills while working on high‑performance manufacturing systems.

You will be paired with journey workers, perform preventive maintenance on robotics and MHE, and study safety regulations to ensure reliable equipment availability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Associate of Science or 4+ years of military experience.
• High School Diploma.
• 1+ years of PC software experience including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive/predictive maintenance of conveyance equipment using the appropriate job plans, procedures, and manuals.
• Conduct maintenance and basic troubleshooting of robotics and robotic work cells.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all material handling equipment components.
• Maintain and troubleshoot motors, photo eyes, relays, proximity sensors, solenoids, motor starters, tachs, etc.
• Move up to 49lbs, stand and walk during shifts up to 12 hours, climb ladders and gangways safely, and perform regular bending and lifting.
