Job summary

Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation seeks a Mechatronics Engineering leader focused on design, development, and leadership within the HMI development team. You will guide advanced vehicle components, wiring, power distribution, and control systems to support production and service, while managing projects across internal and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics or related field, or 6 years of relevant experience.
• Proven teamwork and cross-functional collaboration.
• Understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes and downstream impacts.
• Project management experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Project.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design advanced vehicle components and systems.
• Interface with engineering to determine effective materials and designs.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external suppliers in development and testing.
• Research state‑of‑the‑art vehicle technologies and apply advances.
• Apply engineering analysis and modeling with programming tools.
• Ensure designs meet government regulations and codes.
• Collaborate with Test and Validation to solve prototype issues.
