Job summary

Daimler Truck North America is seeking a Manufacturing Controls Engineer III to lead design, implementation, and optimization of controls across machining, assembly and test cells. You will drive complex automation projects, support new product launches, and partner with global teams to implement advanced manufacturing technologies that improve safety, quality, and productivity.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical/Mechatronics and 7+ years in controls engineering, with Siemens PLC/HMI

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in controls engineering.
  • At least 5 years of PLC programming (Siemens) and HMI development.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Siemens controls.
  • Experience with MES and FIS systems.
  • Travel up to ~10% internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and execution of complex controls projects across machining, assembly and test cells.
  • Lead the controls portion of internal or external projects and coordinate with suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations and safety standards.
  • Implement and support hardware and software for PLC, CNC, HMI and Engine controls; network devices.
  • Support manufacturing monitoring systems and integration to higher level systems.
  • Coach and mentor team members and manage project budgets and funding.
