Job summary

PACCAR Inc, including Peterbilt Motors Company, seeks an electrical design engineer to administer Siemens Capital and related PLM workflows for complex truck electrics. You will support harness design, BOM generation, and design standardization, liaising with engineering teams to improve reliability and efficiency.

Role requires hands-on experience with Capital, Windchill, and scripting to automate tasks; travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 3+ years administering electrical design software (Siemens Capital preferred).
• Working knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and schematic development.
• Experience with PLM systems (Windchill preferred) and CAD/PLM integrations.
• Familiarity with SQL/Oracle databases and Windows Server environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills for supporting engineers with diverse technical backgrounds.
• Strong customer-service mindset with an engineering support orientation.
• Ability to balance daily support with long-term improvement initiatives.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and support upgrades and maintenance of Siemens Capital suite.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate resolutions with Siemens and PACCAR ITD.
• Maintain libraries, ensure data alignment with PLM/engineering processes.
• Establish electrical design standards, naming conventions, templates, and drafting practices.
• Provide technical support to engineers and harness designers across systems.
• Develop scripts and automation to reduce cycle times and improve quality.
• Improve integration between Capital and PLM systems and manufacturing docs.
• Support new truck programs with tool setup and release readiness.
• Participate in engineering change management and configuration control.
• Up to 10% travel is expected.
