Job summary

Butterball is seeking a maintenance engineer/technician to support multiple production facilities in NC and surrounding areas. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems; interpreting blueprints; and implementing preventative maintenance to keep conveyors, sensors, and safety systems running at optimal levels.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Mechatronics or related field is required.
Understand and troubleshoot control voltage and line voltage.
Read and utilize electrical prints and schematics.
Proficient in PLC maintenance and troubleshooting.
Familiar with vacuum theory and related equipment concepts.
Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
Communicate effectively and follow written instructions.
Read/write in English; pass background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

Create, analyze designs, run simulations, and test equipment post-repairs and system manipulation.
Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic failures and propose solutions.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and repair equipment including conveyors, sensors, guards, elevators, and catwalks.
Interpret work orders and blueprints to determine maintenance or replacement needs.
Conduct routine inspections following SOPs and checklists for optimal performance.
Review instructions to ensure projects meet test specs and objectives.
Research and assemble mechanical parts for production machinery.
Diagnose faults using blueprints and wiring diagrams to determine corrective actions.
Design/ redesign, assemble/ disassemble, install/ transport equipment using CAD and prototypes.
