Job summary

RTX is seeking a Mechanical Thermal Engineer to join the MA&T Department in Arizona. You will perform thermal analyses across product lifecycles, from design trade studies to qualification tests, using a range of classical and finite element methods to deliver robust solutions.

You will plan and support tests, reduce data, and engage in model correlation, presenting findings to peers and customers while ensuring cost and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in STEM or related field.
• Experience in thermal analysis with standard tools.
• Strong understanding of mechanical principles applied to thermal problems.

Responsibilities

• Perform hand calculations to determine scope of higher detail analysis models.
• Conduct detailed thermal analyses to address program thermal challenges.
• Generate test plans to validate analyses and verify hardware compliance.
• Analyze test data to validate and correlate models.
• Collaborate with experienced analysts on moderately complex problems.
• Review work with peers for technical accuracy.
• Present results to internal, external, and government customers.
• Document work in detail and archive for reference.
