Job summary

RTX’s Mechanical Thermal Engineer role in the MA&T Department focuses on detailed thermal analysis across product lifecycles, from design trades to qualification testing. You will perform hand calculations and detailed FEA, develop test plans, and correlate data with peers and customers.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in STEM fields obtained by start date.
• Experience with thermal analysis using FloTHERM, PATRAN, Thermal Desktop/SINDA or ANSYS or equivalent.
• Solid understanding of mechanical principles for thermal analysis with and without finite element tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform hand calculations to scope higher detail analyses.
• Carry out detailed thermal analyses for program challenges.
• Generate test plans to validate analyses and verify hardware.
• Analyze test data to validate and correlate models.
• Collaborate with analysts to resolve moderate complexity problems.
• Review work with peers for technical accuracy.
• Present results to customers and stakeholders.
• Document work for archive and reference.
