Job summary

RTX in Marlborough, MA, is seeking a Thermal Analyst I to ensure structural and thermal design robustness across RTX products. You will apply methods from classical techniques to finite element approaches, using industry-standard tools, to deliver cost-effective solutions.

You will perform hand calculations, detailed thermal analyses, generate test plans, and present results to stakeholders, while collaborating with engineers on moderately complex challenges in a DoD-clearance environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM by start date.
• Experience in thermal design and analysis.
• Experience with FloTHERM, PATRAN, Thermal Desktop or ANSYS.

Responsibilities

• Perform hand calculations and determine requirements for higher order analysis.
• Perform detailed thermal analyses to solve design challenges.
• Generate test plans to validate analyses and verify hardware requirements.
• Support test setup and analyze data, correlate and validate thermal models.
• Work with experienced engineers on problems of moderate complexity to provide solutions within program cost and schedule constraints.
• Coordinate and lead technical peer reviews ensuring the technical accuracy of work product.
• Present results to internal stakeholders and external customers.
• Generate detailed, archival technical reports.
