Job summary

RTX is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for the Test Solutions Engineering team, onsite in Tucson, AZ. You will design and develop mechanical test systems, integrate them into production and field environments, and contribute to all phases of the design lifecycle from concept to prototyping and troubleshooting.

The role emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams, CAD modeling, and ensuring system accuracy and reliability across vibration, thermal, and RF/EO environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM required.
• Experience using CAD software, such as CREO or equivalent.
• Experience with mechanical hardware documentation or drawing standards.

Responsibilities

• Research, plan, and design mechanical test systems for vibration, thermal, hydraulic, radio frequency, and electro-optical environments.
• Integrate and validate test systems against stringent accuracy and reliability requirements.
• Evaluate production installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions.
• Develop mechanical solutions that support the full product lifecycle from development to sustainment.
• Utilize CAD solid modeling tools to create detailed design drawing package.
