Job summary

Johnson Controls, a global leader in building systems, seeks a Mechanical Project Team Leader to drive mechanical retrofit projects from start to finish. You will coordinate mechanics and subcontractors, support Sales with estimating, secure new work, and manage the financial health of your portfolio.

The role expects about 50% development and 50% execution, with emphasis on safety, compliance, and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Six+ years of technical and operational knowledge in the service business, esp. retrofit/remodel/tenant improvements.
• Experience leading Mechanics on a portfolio of projects up to $2M (Level 1) or $3–4M (Level 2).
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and manage mechanical retrofit projects.
• Coordinate mechanics and subcontractors to keep work safe and efficient.
• Secure new work and change orders from the existing customer base.
• Estimate mechanical work and support pre-bid reviews and project development with Sales.
• Lead staffing and ensure compliance with specifications and local codes.
