Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks a Service Mechanical Team Project Manager Lead to oversee mechanical retrofit projects, ensure safety compliance, and drive financial results. You will coordinate mechanics and subcontractors, develop proposals, and manage change orders with the customer base.

You will recruit staff, manage project schedules and budgets, and work with Sales as a technical resource. Travel is required and experience in HVAC retrofit is preferred to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Six or more years of comprehensive technical knowledge in service business, especially retrofit/remodel/tenant improvement projects.
• Leads Mechanics on a portfolio of projects up to $2M in revenue.
• 2–4 years of engineering or trade-school training preferred.
• HVAC installation and service experience desired.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to explain technical info to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Plans, executes and manages assigned mechanical projects.
• Oversees retrofit process per Johnson Controls standards and manages safety.
• Estimates mechanical work and presents proposals to customers; handles change orders.
• Recruits, hires and staffs project team; coordinates with subcontractors and truck-based teams.
• Monitors schedules, budgets and financial reporting; communicates progress to management.
