Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. in Toledo, OH is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide maintenance engineering support to maximize plant equipment availability.

You will analyze equipment health and develop strategies to extend time between overhauls, serving as a technical resource for planning, scheduling, and execution of mechanical maintenance. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years of plant-level maintenance mechanical engineering experience.
• Knowledge of machinery design, statistics and project management.
• Proficient CMMS usage to support reliability analysis.
• Experience in predictive technologies (NDE/NDT, oil, vibration, thermography, ultrasonics, motor circuit analysis).
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage changing priorities.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and work in plant environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and specify mechanical equipment and systems (piping, vessels, rotating equipment, conveyors).
• Lead reliability improvement initiatives and analyze equipment health.
• Monitor plant reliability performance and review maintenance data in CMMS.
• Support operations with troubleshooting and technical guidance.
• Coordinate with third-party reliability service providers.
• Develop capital project justifications, budgets, and cost savings.
• Write work orders and oversee execution for new equipment installations.
