Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs seeks a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for the Dearborn HDGL line. You will analyze failures, implement corrective actions, and establish maintenance procedures to boost equipment reliability.

Responsibilities include outage planning, updates to drawings, collaboration with operations, and ensuring inspection standards with NDT/predictive tech support. Strong communication and ERP/Microsoft Office skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Demonstrated equipment reliability knowledge.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Maintenance ERP and Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to perform maintenance and reliability studies and/or FMEA.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitors equipment availability and efficiency, creates pareto analyses.
• Uses failure analysis to identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Plans outages, repairs, and prioritizes maintenance work.
• Establishes preventive maintenance procedures for equipment care.
• Collaborates with Operations to update drawings and advise redesigns.
• Coordinates inspection standards and manages spares and inventory.
