Job summary

Philips seeks a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the design of superconducting MRI magnet systems. You will develop and maintain structural components, perform analyses to guide design decisions, and support prototype testing and manufacturing integration.

You will collaborate with Systems Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Service, applying GD&T and simulation tools to deliver robust, manufacturable solutions. Office-based, full-time role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Physics or equivalent.
• 4+ years of experience in System Architecture, System Design, Hardware Engineering or equivalent.
• Proficiency with GD&T reading and interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain structural designs for superconducting MRI magnet systems including cryogenic vessels and coil structures.
• Perform analyses (hand calculations, FEA, Matlab) to predict loads and stresses to guide design decisions.
• Define and execute engineering mitigation activities including FMEA, test planning, prototype test development, and data analysis.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Collaborate across disciplines to resolve technical and field issues and deliver robust designs.
