Job summary

Zekelman Industries, via its Z Modular division, is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to lead mechanical engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle in Austin, TX. You will liaise between engineering, fabrication, construction, vendors, consultants, and clients to ensure design and installation meet project objectives.

The role emphasizes coordination across disciplines, code compliance, risk management, and ongoing design reviews to drive constructability and schedule adherence

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required, with ability to obtain licensure in additional jurisdictions.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in mechanical engineering or project management.
• Experience with HVAC, plumbing, ventilation, hydronic building systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical engineering projects from pre-design through fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Lead planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical design deliverables for modular building projects.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical, manufacturing, and construction teams.
• Review mechanical plans, submittals, and fabrication documents for code compliance.
• Provide technical leadership during fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
