Job summary

Zekelman Industries' Z Modular division in Austin, TX (hybrid with Chandler, AZ or Troy, MI) seeks an MEP Designer - Plumbing to develop and coordinate plumbing and mechanical systems for modular construction projects, create Revit BIM models, and produce construction and shop drawings.

You will collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, fabricators and internal teams, ensure coordination, and support design development while advancing modular construction technologies.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience using Revit BIM in engineering, construction, or design environments.
• Engineering degree or equivalent education and experience.
• Experience designing plumbing systems and coordinating mechanical systems.
• Strong proficiency with Revit BIM software.
• Experience producing construction drawings, shop drawings, and technical details.
• Solid understanding of building systems coordination and design development.

Responsibilities

• Develops and coordinates plumbing and mechanical designs for modular projects.
• Creates and maintains Revit models, construction and shop drawings, and project documentation.
• Reviews designs and develops details and solutions to meet requirements.
• Adapts modular details for permit, construction, and fabrication drawings.
• Prepares drawing packages including permit and coordination drawings.
• Coordinates building systems with architects, engineers, contractors, and fabricators.
