Job summary

Zekelman Industries’ Z Modular division seeks a Pre-Construction Manager to coordinate all pre-construction activities and ensure design to site mobilization runs smoothly. You will build trade networks, manage bids, and align information with design, engineering, and site teams.

You’ll lead meetings, maintain scopes, and drive safe, efficient project delivery in a fast-paced construction environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction project management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Building Science preferred.
• Ability to travel to production and project sites across the U.S. (biweekly to weekly).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop a catalog of qualified subcontractors for each trade.
• Pre-qualify subcontractors to streamline pricing for PMs.
• Create and maintain a deep subcontractor list by trade scope.
• Manage the bid process through BuildingConnected and Procore.
• Conduct pre-construction meetings and walk-throughs with trades.
• Update bid scopes and create new scopes for product lines.
• Review and scope trade bids, verify variances and accuracy.
• Coordinate with design teams to finalize material lists and quantities.
• Prioritize subcontractor buyout with site teams.
• Collaborate with purchasing on long-term material pricing.
• Maintain template subcontract and consultant agreements.
• Assist with purchase orders, requisitions, and proposals.
• Attend design, engineering, and AOC meetings; lead PM calls.
• Promote safe work practices as required by policy and regs.
