Job summary

Trevett Facilities Recruitment is assisting on a major greenfield 100MW+ data-center development in the Mobile, Alabama area. We seek a Mechanical Project Manager with a strong GC/CM background to lead critical mechanical workstreams on this technically complex project.

The role covers preconstruction through installation, testing and closeout, with strong emphasis on coordinating subs, schedules, budgets and documentation.

Qualifications

• Proven PM experience in general contractor or construction manager environments.
• Strong mechanical construction background on large, complex projects.
• Data-center/hyperscale/mission-critical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical construction activities from preconstruction through installation, testing and closeout.
• Coordinate mechanical subcontractors, vendors, field teams and stakeholders.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, schedules, budgets and project docs.
• Drive mechanical package execution to meet milestones and quality requirements.
• Coordinate with electrical, controls, commissioning and field leadership.
• Identify schedule, design and constructability issues and drive timely resolution.
• Support testing, turnover and commissioning activities as project progresses.
• Maintain clear communication with leadership on progress, risks and commercial matters.

Job description

An established construction organization is building the core delivery team for a major new 100MW+ greenfield hyperscale data-center development in the Mobile, Alabama area.

This is an opportunity to join the project during the early stages of development and take ownership of a critical mechanical workstream on a large, technically complex construction program.

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager with a strong GC/CM construction background and experience delivering major mechanical packages on complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical construction activities from preconstruction and procurement through installation, testing and closeout.
• Coordinate mechanical subcontractors, vendors, field teams and project stakeholders.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, schedules, budgets and project documentation.
• Drive mechanical package execution against project milestones and quality requirements.
• Coordinate closely with electrical, controls, commissioning and field leadership.
• Identify potential schedule, design and constructability issues and drive timely resolution.
• Support testing, turnover and commissioning activities as the project progresses.
• Maintain clear communication with project leadership regarding progress, risks and commercial matters.

Candidate Profile

• Proven Project Management experience within a general contractor, construction manager or major contractor environment.
• Strong mechanical construction experience on large-scale, technically complex projects.
• Previous data-center / hyperscale / mission-critical experience is strongly preferred.
• Candidates from major industrial, advanced manufacturing or similarly complex construction environments may also be considered where the mechanical experience is highly transferable.
• Strong understanding of mechanical subcontractor management, construction schedules, RFIs, submittals, change management and cost control.
• Ability to coordinate effectively across multiple technical disciplines.
• Strong commercial awareness and communication skills.
• Stable career history and demonstrated ownership of major construction packages.

Location / Working Arrangement

The project is currently in early mobilization. Successful candidates may initially work remotely while site infrastructure is established, before transitioning to full-time onsite work in the

Mobile, Alabama area.

Candidates may be considered from across the United States where they are prepared to work onsite for the duration of the project.

• $150,000–$190,000 base salary, depending on experience
• Two company-paid round trips home per month
