Qualifications

• 3 years experience overseeing multiple complex commercial projects lasting 1+ year.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction or equivalent experience.
• Experience managing mechanical, HVAC, piping, or industrial projects for data centers or mission critical facilities.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, cost control skills.
• Proficiency with Excel and project management software.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead complex construction projects in the Richmond, VA area. This role oversees budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, change orders, RFIs, and full project lifecycle execution.

Our client has been delivering high-quality mechanical construction solutions for over 50 years and specializes in New Construction, Mission Critical Facilities, Data Centers, Special Projects and Manufacturing.

What You’ll Do

• Manage equipment, materials, and subcontractor estimates
• Develop and maintain project schedules
• Negotiate and price change orders
• Submit and manage RFIs
• Oversee project closeout and documentation
• Collaborate with field leadership and virtual construction teams
• Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget

What We’re Looking For

• Experience managing mechanical, HVAC, piping, or industrial ground-up commercial construction projects for data centers, healthcare facilities, or other mission critical work
• 3 Years experience overseeing multiple complex commercial projects lasting 1+ year
• Recent experience as a PM for a Mechanical Contractor (Not a GC)
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
• Proficiency with Excel and project management software
• Strong communication skills with GCs, owners, and subcontractors
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction, or equivalent experience working up through the trades in management
