Job summary

AM Mechanical is offering a Summer 2027 Mechanical Project Manager Intern position for highly motivated students pursuing engineering or related fields. You will support project management tasks from estimating and scheduling to design meetings and buyout, gaining hands-on experience in a design/build environment.

The internship includes weekly training, opportunities to travel, and a potential discretionary bonus.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s of Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Architectural Engineering, or related program.
Open to fulltime opportunity post grad
Minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0
Prior construction internship experience is a plus
Extracurricular involvement is a plus

Responsibilities

Estimating project proposals and assigning dollar values.
Creating a working schedule for subcontractors to complete the project on time.
Attend design meetings with owner and team to understand design pro structural engineers, architects.
Send bid instructions, schedule, and drawings to subcontractors; evaluate proposals; award subcontracts.
Review subcontractor drawings with Project Manager and design team; communicate with subs on upcoming work.
Work with Project Manager to understand contracts, change orders, pay requests, and project cost status.
