Job summary

Terrestrial Energy seeks a Mechanical Engineer/Analyst – Model Development to contribute to the design and analysis of IMSR reactor systems, components and materials through the Detailed Engineering phase. You will develop and implement custom engineering models predicting material behavior under IMSR conditions.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of work experience in mechanical and materials modelling and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct literature and OPEX reviews to support design and model development.
  • Collaborate with R&D to translate experimental results into custom engineering models.
  • Prepare models, calculations and reports for analysis of reactor components under irradiation, fatigue, creep, and thermal loads.
  • Develop computer codes for building custom analysis tools and automate simulations.
  • Interface with external experts and regulatory agencies.
