Job summary

Terrestrial Energy, a US-based developer of Generation IV nuclear reactors, seeks a Mechanical Engineer/Analyst – Model Development to contribute to IMSR design and analysis. You will create custom models for predicting material and component behavior under reactor conditions and collaborate with R&D to plan experiments.

The role requires hands-on modelling, coding for automation, and strong communication within cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of work experience in mechanical and materials modelling and analysis.
• Strong understanding of mechanics of materials and material science fundamentals.
• Experience with ANSYS Mechanical or other commercial FEA software.
• Experience with programming for data processing or simulation automation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct literature and operating experience reviews to support design and model development.
• Collaborate with R&D to translate results into custom engineering models under reactor conditions.
• Prepare models, calculations and reports for analysis of reactor components and materials.
