Ellsworth Adhesives, a global distributor of specialty chemicals and equipment, invites you to join the Mechanical-Manufacturing Engineer Intern program at Ellsworth Dispensing Solutions in Sparks, NV.

You will gain hands-on experience in CAD (SolidWorks), develop basic drawings and BOMs, and assist with the design of mechanical systems while collaborating with production teams.

The internship runs for 15 weeks with a 150-hour requirement (10–15 hours per week).

Qualifications

• Must be a degree-seeking undergraduate OR graduate student at the University of Nevada, Reno during the Spring '27 semester.
• Fall '26 or earlier graduates are not eligible for Wolf Pack STEM Internship Program.
• Good problem solving and analytic skills (i.e., root cause analysis, recommendations, tracking results).
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing continuous improvement methodologies.
• Ability to write and document manufacturing process, inspection, and testing procedures.
• Capability to communicate, coach, and train shop floor team members on processing information.
• Basic knowledge of electronics components and electronic assemblies.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical personnel.

Responsibilities

• Complete 150 hours of work as an intern (10-15 hours per week, 15 weeks total).
• Create, review and updates of basic documentation including drawings, models, bill of materials, quotes and engineering summaries utilizing CAD Systems and ERP software.
• Prepares product documentation (i.e. manuals, work instructions, assembly instructions, data sheets, etc.).
• Prepares Bills of Material (BOM) and parts list repositories.
• Conducts assigned projects ensuring that work is completed within budgetary and time constraints while meeting customer and contractual demands.
• Assess customer requirements, evaluate engineering design, and create complete drawing packages.
• Model components to define recommended parts procurement.

Internship Description

Gain valuable hands-on experience in a fast-paced engineering environment! This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to real-world design projects. You'll work closely with experienced engineers, developing essential skills in CAD software (SolidWorks) while assisting with the design and development of mechanical systems and machinery. The intern will develop basic drawings and specifications for existing and new design projects. Additionally, the intern will assist with design of mechanical systems and/or machinery utilizing design and ERP software. You will also be working closely with the production team to see your changes take place in person. Most of the work you are updating and creating will be assembly instructions for the production team.

Duties/Responsibilities

Goals And Expectations Of The Intern

• Create/update 1-5 assembly and drawings per week in SolidWorks.
• Complexity of option drawings are from 5 to 50 parts in a single drawing.

Desired Schedule For Intern

Minimum shift of four (4) hours, M-F: 7:30am to 5:30 pm (Within that window)

Pack STEM internships require interns to complete 150 hours during their internship. It is the intern's responsibility to ensure this requirement is met.
