Job description

Ellsworth Corporation is a global, industry‑leading distributor of specialty chemicals, equipment, and adhesive manufacturing.

We are looking for a Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer to work at our EDS facility in Sparks, NV. This is a 100% on‑site role reporting to EDS.

The Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer will serve as the senior technical contributor and project leader, responsible for the design, development, and optimization of complex mechanical systems. This role leads cross‑functional efforts to translate customer requirements into robust, manufacturable, and scalable solutions while ensuring alignment with cost, quality, and performance objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the creation and approval of complex engineering documentation including models, drawings, bills of materials, and quotes using CAD systems, PDM, and ERP software
  • Serve as technical lead on assigned projects, ensuring delivery of scope, schedule, cost, quality, and customer requirements
  • Drive design reviews, risk assessments, and cross‑functional alignment for new and existing products
  • Translate customer requirements into manufacturable, reliable, and scalable engineering solutions
  • Own and govern Bill of Material (BOM) structure and product configurations, ensuring accuracy, change control, and lifecycle management
  • Lead root‑cause analysis and corrective actions for product, process, and field performance issues, driving continuous improvement in design, manufacturability, safety, cost, and quality

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in mechanical and/or manufacturing engineering, including demonstrated leadership of complex projects or product lines
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college in Engineering or a closely related field
  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Business (MBA) preferred
  • Other combinations of advanced education and equivalent experience may be considered
  • Advanced SolidWorks certifications (CSWP, CSWE, CPPA, or equivalent) preferred
  • Engineering in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineering (PE) preferred
  • Demonstrated problem‑solving and analytical skills, including advanced root‑cause analysis and data‑driven decision making
  • Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, DFM)
  • Ability to define, document, and govern manufacturing processes, inspection plans, and validation protocols
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and technically develop engineers and shop‑floor team members
  • Strong knowledge of electronic components and electronic assemblies as they interface with mechanical systems
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders, including leadership and customers
  • Proven capability to influence without authority and lead through technical expertise
  • Experience operating in or deploying ISO9001 or equivalent quality systems
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds, on occasion up to 50 pounds
